A Screw Steamer Ashore at South Shields

During the prevalence of a fog on Saturday afternoon, the screw-steamer Thomas Adams, Capt. Mutch, from Huelva, with copper ore, while entering Shields harbour, got ashore the Fish Pier, South Shields. Efforts were made to get her off, but they proved unsuccessful. The steamer, however, floated off the next tide, without sustaining much damage, and was brought into the harbour.
