Steam Wherry Ashore at Trow Rocks

The steam wherry Swift, 55 tons register, belonging to Edward Grey, Newcastle, ran ashore on the Herd Sand, near to Trow Rocks, this morning, about 2 a.m. She was on a voyage from Newcastle to Sunderland, in ballast. She remains fast, but it is expected that she will come off with this evening's tide. She got ashore through a fog.
