The Tug Scottish Maid

 

During the prevalence of a dense fog, the tug Scottish Maid, ran aground near the south pier last night, and has become a total wreck. The crew, it appears, were taken off the tug by Mr R. Woodhouse, assisted by Mr W. Henderson. The Scottish Maid is registered at North Shields, but belongs to Mr Robson, of South Shields. It is stated that the tug is not insured, and she will be sold by auction as she lies.

JOHN S. FORREST is instructed to SELL BY AUCTION, This (Friday) Evening, on the Herd Sands, South Shields, the above wrecked steamer as she may then lie, near the s.s. Aberfoyle, engine 26 cylinder, good tubular boilers, Hull, copper fastened.

 

Sale at 6 o'clock and for Cash.
