Collier Aground

The collier Firelight, 2,841 tons, ran aground early to-day on the block foundations of South Shields pier She was carrying 4,100 tons of coal from Dunston to London when she became fast by the bows.

Unsuccessful attempts were made by tugs refloat her. and further bids were to made at high water this afternoon. The vessel is owned by Stephenson Clarke.
